Umuahia, Abia State- In a bid to strengthen the relationship between the academic community and law enforcement agencies, the Rector of Federal Polytechnic Isuochi, Dr. Paul-Darlington I. Ndubuisi paid a courtesy visit to the Assistant Inspector General of Police, AIG E.E. Echeng at the Zone 9, Police Headquarters/Office on September, 20th, 2023.
During the visit, the Rector expressed his gratitude to the Assistant Inspector General of Police (AIG) for his continuous support in maintaining a safe and secure environment for the institution. He highlighted the importance of collaboration between the Polytechnic and the Police Force in ensuring the safety of students, staff, and the entire community.
In response, the Assistant Inspector General of Police commended the Rector for his proactive approach in fostering a strong relationship with law enforcement agencies. He emphasized the significance of such partnerships in tackling security challenges and maintaining law and order within the academic community. He further promised to improve on security of the Polytechnic community.
The meeting also provided an opportunity for both parties to discuss potential areas of collaboration, including joint training programs, workshops, and seminars aimed at equipping prospective students with the necessary skills to address emerging security issues. The Rector and the Assistant Inspector General of Police agreed to explore these possibilities further and develop a framework for future cooperation.
Furthermore, Mallam Drisu N. Ibrahim, the Polytechnic Librarian thanked the AIG Echeng and his colleagues : DCP Dr. Emenaru, DCP Aliko Dangoli, DCP Itasecong, the Deputy Commissioners of Police (DCPs) for hosting the Principal Officers of Federal Polytechnic Isuochi.
According to Dr. Onyema S. Edward, the courtesy visit was concluded on a positive note, with both the Rector and the Assistant Inspector General of Police reaffirming their commitment to fostering a strong partnership between the academic institution and law enforcement agencies. This visit serves as a testament to the dedication of both parties in creating a safe and conducive learning environment for students and staff.
As the Rector left the Police Headquarters, he expressed his optimism for a fruitful collaboration that will not only benefit the Federal Polytechnic Isuochi but also contribute to the overall security and development of the society at large.
